Dispersal orders extended till 31st March 2007

 

Following the success of the Manor Park dispersal order three months ago, Slough Borough Council and Thames Valley Police have committed to extending the order for a further three months.

The order was brought in as a response to anti-social behaviour in the Hawthorne Crescent area and was originally due to end on December 10. It has now been extended to run until March 31 2007.

The order covers Hawthorne Crescent, Cromwell Drive, Grant Avenue, Sherman Road, Regents Court, Stewart Avenue and Stoke Poges Lane from the junction with Oatlands Drive to the junction with Granville Avenue.

 

CCTV Camera's to fight crime and antisocial behaviour

 

Stoke Poges Lane CCTV camera is up and running, It is positioned just into Stoke Poges lane, by the Belgrave Parade shops. It is monitored by the CCTV suite in the Town Hall.

Three re-deployable cameras are also being installed at secret locations to fight crime and anti -social behaviour.

We will be revaeling their secret locations on this web site.

 


Twenty mile zone - Manor park

 

Manor park is one of the area's selected for this pilot to introduce the 20 MPH speed limit.

The work is currently in progress in Manor Park for the implementation of the 20 MPH zone.

 

 

Northern Road Chicanes - Latest

 

Northern Rd/Cumberland Ave Chicanes removal. As a result of a petition to the Scrutiny Comittee, It recommended unanimously that - The Chicanes Be Removed. On presentation to the cabinet, they decided no action will be taken and no further consideration until they have been in position for 3 years.

We understand your concerns for all the pedestrians crossing the junctions without a pedestrian crossing facility. Our Road Safety team are currently investigating possible solutions to improve both of these junctions for pedestrians.
